Weddings at Shilstone |
Set amid spectacular Devonshire countryside, in between moors and sea, is the Shilstone Estate - 500 acres of beautiful scenery with a newly restored Georgian manor house in its midst. The experience of Shilstone begins long before you reach the house itself; country lanes brimming with wild flowers wind their way to the Shilstone drive and the rolling hills beyond stretch out to the sea.
Shilstone is now open and taking bookings for September 2011 onwards. Do get in touch, either on 01548 830888 or katie@shilstonedevon.co.uk or visit Shilstone to arrange an informal tour or to discuss your ideas further – we would love to show you around one of the most exciting new venues in the South West. |

Right now the smell of wood shavings and paint fills the air as the joiners make their finishing touches. Crockery and lampshades huddle together waiting to be put into position and oak paneling is stacked waiting to be put back onto the wall. These are the final stages of a 10 yearlong renovation and it is difficult not to be impressed by the attention to detail of the new design. |

Shilstone is a former domesday manor, which after several changes of ownership fell into a state of disrepair. In the year 2000 the present owners started work to bring the house back to its former glory and a strong vision, fine local craftsmanship and plenty of hard work has ensured their success.
Beautiful arches, window lights and perfect finishing touches give Shilstone a very cool, relaxed charm, and this combined with the stunning setting make Shilstone a very exclusive venue.
If you would like to be married in the idyllic country setting that Shilstone offers, we are licensed for civil ceremonies and with an excellent choice of locations we will be happy to accommodate your ceremony at whatever time of day you choose. |
